Weight Gain Supplements

Why Weight Gain Supplements?

There are three main body types - endomorphs, mesomorphs and ectomorphs. While endomorphs and mesomorphs find it easy to build muscle, ectomorphs are naturally skinny but find it very hard to gain weight and build muscle. In order to put on muscle mass, naturally skinny ectomorphs have to consume enough calories per day to overcome their naturally fast metabolism.

This is where weight gain supplements come in. While it may be tempting to just eat high-calorie junk food to gain weight, these foods are loaded with saturated fat and other ingredients which are bad for you. If you want to gain weight, you need to gain weight through healthy foods. Foods such as salmon contain plenty of good fats like omega-3 essential fatty acids. Weight gain supplements contain plenty of protein and carbohydrates which will help you gain weight in a healthy way.

Advantages

  • Good way to gain weight

Disadvantages

  • Not recommended if you're trying to lose weight.

How to gain muscle

Eating weight gain supplements is not enough to gain weight. You still need to do plenty of weight training in order to build muscle. Make sure you are creating a calorie surplus everyday with what you are eating. You should aim to consume 3000+ calories daily together with weight training. Cardiovascular exercise should be minimal compared to weight training.

A good way to make sure you're eating enough calories is keeping a food diary. Log down whatever you eat everyday and tally up the calories. You can add calories to your daily meals such as breakfast by adding nuts to your cereal and having a extra slice of toast with peanut butter.
