Many people may think that no one in their right mind would want to put on weight, but some people do actually need to gain some pounds. Many other people want to gain a good amount of muscle, and the two often go hand in hand—people want to gain muscle mass, not weight brought about by fat. However, some people aren’t certain how to go about doing this. Here are five of the best ways to put muscle on your frame and gain a few pounds in a healthy way.

  1. Exercise intelligently. Don’t simply go to the gym and lift weights. Research the best methods of putting on the muscle you want. If you’re looking at adding some muscle to your abs, for example, you need to learn which types of workouts make the best use of those muscles. These types of exercises will not be the same as the exercises designed to help you build leg muscle or arm muscle. Learn how to exercise to best work your target areas.
